Toothed Whales and a Baleen Whale on Whale Watching trip.

Nearly an hour into the Whale Watching trip on June 12, spotted a minke whale near a large school of bait fish. He was too fast to capture any photos, but our guests did get several looks at him as he surfaced.

We then came across a pod of roughly 200 common dolphins feeding on a large school of anchovies. Good to see all those fish out there – means lots of food for our local marine mammals off the coast of San Diego.

Leaping whale in calmer seas rewards whale watching

After a week of blustery sea conditions it was smooth sailing during our whale watching tour this morning. After sighting some Bottlenose Dolphins we found an adolescent whale milling around offshore from the Q1 tower (which was often shrouded in mist today). Our patient passengers were rewarded with two spectacular breaches close to our vessel on June 13, 2014

It takes place at Brighton Hilton, the very place where the world’s governments gathered in 1982 to suspend international whaling.
